TENS application for bruxism

Man holding his face in jaw area due to pain from bruxism. Bruxism pain can be relieved with a TENS device.

The technical term for teeth grinding is bruxism. Mostly at night, but also during the day, we grind our teeth. This often happens subconsciously and is triggered by stress, for example, but the causes can be very diverse.

The consequences are often jaw pain, but teeth grinding can also have consequences for the entire body, such as headaches and back pain. A diagnosis should be made by a doctor who can draw up an individual treatment plan with you. In order to avoid grinding your teeth, bite splints are often made, which are mainly worn while you sleep.

Strong painkillers are often used to treat the pain that follows from teeth grinding. However, this should not be a long-term solution. With a TENS device, such as our TENS EMS combination device STIM-PRO X9, you can not only relieve pain of all kinds without having to take medication, but you can also relax and massage your jaw muscles.

Electrode placement in bruxism

Since grinding your teeth can cause pain in different parts of the body or damage to the tooth substance, you can relax your jaw muscles with our TENS EMS combination device STIM-PRO X9. The electrodes are placed on the cheeks, as can be seen in the picture. You can use our round electrodes with a diameter of 3.2 cm for this.
